CWAYE BASEBALL is a baseball training experience put together by Coach Chris Waye who also runs the day-to-day operations. Coach Waye uses his extensive baseball background, knowledge of the game, training, and over 20 years of experience to help prepare student-athletes of all ages to not only develop as athletes on the field but also as human beings off of it. Coach Waye’s expertise and ability to teach the fundamentals of hitting, infield play, outfield play, base running, pitching, team concepts, and the mental aspects of the game establish CWAYE BASEBALL as the go-to training experience for high performance athletes in the tri-state area.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop a community of athletes who establish lifelong friendships through training and competition. Chris Waye’s introduction to baseball started at the age of two. His father would take him outside and share his passion for baseball with him to the dismay of Chris’s mother. By the age of nine Chris started playing little league baseball and the rest is history.
Coach Waye played his high school baseball at Murry Bergtraum high school where he was the starting shortstop for the varsity and a varsity letterman from his sophomore year until he graduated in 1998.
In his sophomore year at Murry Bergtraum, Coach Waye batted .505 with five homeruns, and was among the team leaders in stolen bases that year. Coach was named team captain in his junior year, and during the winter of that year, coach traveled to Puerto Rico as part of the Roberto Clemente All-Start team and traveled the island of Puerto Rico playing against the best talent on and around the island.
During his time in Puerto Rico, Coach Waye was coached by former Major Leaguer Lenny Randle and he played well during the trip earning the coach’s award for his outstanding play and sportsmanship.
Coach Waye remained team captain in his senior year at Murry Bergtraum where he put together another solid season which earned him the honor of being named to PSAL high school second team all-city team at the end of his final season.
Baseball then took Coach Waye to Baltimore, Maryland where he attended college. Coach Waye started at Baltimore City Community College where he was the starting shortstop during the two years he played there. From Baltimore Community College, Coach Waye spent one year at Copping State University where he played during the fall under the late Paul Blair.
After leaving Coppin State, Coach Waye returned home to New York and played his last two seasons of college baseball at SUNY College at Old Westbury where he was the starting left fielder and later became the starting second baseman. In his junior year at Old Westbury, Coach Waye batted .337 and only struck out 3 times all season which ranked him the 16th toughest hitter to strikeout in the country among NCAA Division 3 players in the Skyline Conference. Coach Waye finished his college career having earned the honor of being named to the Skyline Conference second team all-conference team.
Coach Waye started CWAYE BASEBALL to develop a community of athletes who establish lifelong friendships through training and competition. This is something that’s very important to Coach Waye because it allows him to work with the next generation of ballplayers, and help them to develop into the best version of themselves while giving something back to the game of baseball which has done and continues to do so much for him.
CWAYE BASEBALL would like to thank and extend its gratitude to the many people who have helped to bring the vision of CWAYE BASEBALL to life. We also would like to thank the student-athletes who train with us, and their families for contributing to the success of our program and culture.

Team Training
CWAYE BASEBALL’s Team Training programs are a great way for teams and organizations to gain a competitive edge over the competition. Our Team Training focuses on team concepts that help teams to develop their overall understanding of the game along with their athleticism in order to gain the competitive edge they’re looking for on the field. Position specific responsibilities depending on game situations, understanding the goal of the game defensively, learning how to handle trick plays, and learning to play the mental game are just a few of the skills developed through our team training programs.
